This April, the first two immersions have taken place in the Inter Islas Tejiendo Futuro Project, an initiative that addresses plastic pollution in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza through three main pillars: scientific research, circular economy and public awareness.
This project, which is being carried out thanks to funding from Depeche Mode and Hublot through Conservation Collective, has started in Mallorca with the first two dives: one in Cala Figuera and the other in Port de Sóller.
One of the key objectives of this project is the investigation of the waste present in the seabed near the coast of the islands. The study aims to better understand their presence, typology and abundance, as well as to raise hypotheses about their origin.
