Projects

The Ponent Natural Calvià project was created to enhance, protect and restore the coastal and marine environment of the western coastline of the municipality of Calvià (Mallorca). It brings together marine and terrestrial ecosystems, economic activities, biodiversity and the local community under a shared vision: for the Ponent coastline to be recognised, cared for and managed as a single, outstanding natural area in Mallorca.

The project is an integrated initiative that combines conservation, active management, environmental awareness and the participation of local stakeholders, recognising that the environmental quality of the area is the foundation of its social, cultural and economic value.

The project currently promotes awareness campaigns to encourage compliance with the regulations and reduce vessel speeds around the Ponent Marine Reserve, supports environmental volunteering and citizen science initiatives, and works closely with public authorities, organisations, businesses and other local stakeholders to advance the conservation of this unique natural area.
