This Spring newsletter comes at a strange time. The Covid-19 pandemic has come down heavily on humanity, reminding us of our vulnerability to global threats. It is in these situations that we should stop to observe and reflect on what we could do differently and review our relationship with nature.
These days, many of the mistakes that we make in relation to nature are becoming apparent, as well as the dependence of islands like Mallorca on food imports. Food sovereignty is more important than ever. For this reason, the Mallorca Preservation Foundation wants to promote local and sustainable food production, as well as the consumption of local food.
Now, more than ever, is the time to support our farmers and producers by buying local, so that we can contribute to revitalising our land and landscape, as well as reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Let’s take this opportunity to make some positive and lasting changes to our behaviour.
